Jurism Installers (Current Release)

The Jurism client is a desktop tool for managing research materials. Like other reference managers, it serves as a “smart library” or “desktop research assistant” with support for collecting, organizing, and citing resources.

Jurism is based on the popular Zotero reference manager, to which it adds feature for handling legal and multilingual resources.

Jurism Client Installer (Mac)

Jurism version 6. Click on the link to the left to download the installer, then double-click on the downloaded file to install.

If you are upgrading from Jurism 5.0 …

  • Jurism 6 creates a fresh application profile. Your settings, including your sync and language settings, will be reset to the default values.

  • In Jurism 6, the location of the default data directory changes from Juris-M to Jurism. You can find its location by visiting PreferencesAdvancedFiles and Folders To use your existing library, set the Custom library location to use the old directory name.

Jurism version 6. Installation is not automatic on Linux systems. Unpack the archive (tar vxjf <filename>) in a suitable location, and set the path to point at the subdirectory it creates. The command name is jurism.

Jurism Client (no installer available)

Installers for the Jurism client are available only for the Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems. An appropriate installer will be offered when this page is accessed from a supported operating system.

Jurism Connector (Firefox)

Provides a “Save to Jurism” option in the Firefox context menu (right-click), and enables Jurism support in Google Docs. Clicking on the link to the left will install this add-on.

Note: Several restarts of client and browser may be needed before the client and connector recognize one another.

Jurism Connector (Google Chrome or Chromium)

Provides a “Save to Jurism” option in the Chrome context menu (right-click), and enables Jurism support in Google Docs. Clicking on the link to the left will install this add-on.

Jurism Connector (no installer available)

Jurism connectors are not available for this platform. Connectors are available in the Linux, Mac OSX, and Windows operating systems for the Chrome, Chromium, and Firefox browsers. The appropriate connector will be offered when this page is accessed from a supported browser.
